What’s the Idea?
Get you photos off your phone, off your computer or out of the box under the bed and put them in albums with the story behind the photo
What’s the story
I was introduced to scrapbooking 20 years ago and spend anything from an hour to 20 hours a week (when I’m not working) in the craft room creating layouts for my albums to record my memories and get the story behind the photos on a page with the photos.
I have a dedicated craft room which started as a box under a table in my bedroom.
People should do this because…?
It’s my escape from the world, my creative outlet and my way of enjoying the memories and my photographs.
I share my pages on Instagram and in dedicated Facebook groups as well as on my timeline. I share my albums with friends and family who love reading the stories and reliving those memories with me.
My craft room is my happy place, where I can relax and spend some time doing what I love.
How do you do it?
You print your photos, or get them printed – I use the Canon Selphy 6×4 printer. You gather some pattern paper, coordinating cardstock, adhesive and various embellishments then create.
You can search Google, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook groups and other sites for inspiration.
You can use a sketch from places like Page Maps, Scrapbook & Cards Today, Stuck Sketches etc – I’ll talk about these in my next video.
Most important is getting your photos and the Who, Where, When, Why and What on the page
