What’s the Idea?
Creating decorative pages with photos with the story of who, where, when, why and what of the photos
What’s the story
I’ve been scrapbooking for almost 20 years. My sister-in-law introduced me to the hobby and I haven’t looked back since. It’s my creative outlet and great for my mental health as it’s at least 30 minutes where I’m just concentrating on what I am creating.
People should do this because…?
It’s taking time out of the day to do something creative and fun. It’s getting the photos of your phone, computer or out of the box that’s stuffed under the bed. It’s a great way to display those photos with the story.
How do you do it?
Print or order prints of your photos. I print at home with a Canon Selphy, which is a 6″ x 4″ printer.
I use a programme called Picasa from Google which is no longer available to make my photo collages and get more than one photo on a print. There are lots of other programmes and phone/tablet apps out there to do this. I’ve linked a few in the useful apps below.
You collect your supplies, pattern papers, embellishments and sometimes card stock as well as your photos.
You find some inspiration, sometimes I just cut paper up and move it around the page with my photos until I am happy.
My video today is about getting inspiration from sketches and I’ve linked a few resources for finding sketches below.
