Make puff pastry marmite swirls

Make puff pastry marmite swirls - image of marmite jars in a row on a shelf in a crowded kitchen.

What’s the Idea?

You can make delicious, cheesy puff pastry marmite swirls with just three ingredients.

What’s the story

We always make these, just thought I would share with others.

People should do this because…?

Puff pastry marmite swirls are yummy, easy to make and great as a snack for any occasion.

Pack them in for a picnic, make a whole tin of these for a party or just keep some handy when anyone in the family gets hungry between meals.

Once you’ve mastered this basic recipe, you can even experiment. Try different kinds of spreads (tomato paste, pesto or chutney) or cheeses (like cream cheese or mozzarella).

How do you do it?

First, preheat your oven. Check your puff pastry packet to see how hot your oven needs to be.

Next, carefully roll out your puff pastry.

Spread a layer of marmite all over your puff pastry, making sure to get into all the corners.

Grate your cheese, then spread it nice and even all over the puff pastry.

Carefully roll up your puff pastry, peeling off the backing paper as you go.

For the last bit of dough, you’ll need to roll it towards you and then stick it down.

Cut the roll into 1 cm slices, using a sharp knife.

Place the puff pastry marmite swirls onto a greased pan or baking paper. Make sure to spread them out to avoid the edges merging together.

Put them in the oven and bake according to the directions on the puff pastry packet. Remember to set your timer!

When they are golden brown, take them out of the oven and cool. Then enjoy!
