What’s the Idea?
Create all the joys of the glorious Glyndebourne Opera in your own garden and enjoy Summer Festival performances, screened every Sunday.
What’s the story
My mother once described Mozart as ‘that lightweight!’.
She was a great devotee of high Italian opera.
Thankfully, a friend had a house near Glyndebourne.
Therefore, I discovered both the glories of the English country house and the genius of Mozart opera.
Add the dreamlike gardens, picnic hampers and the chance to dress up.
Sadly, Glyndebourne Opera was cancelled this season due to Covid-19.
However, this created an opportunity for an ‘at home’ festival.
A quintessentially English setting, an Austrian composer, and Italian style opera.
Stream on Sunday evenings at 5.00 pm and available for 7 days.
People should do this because…?
Glyndebourne Opera is a joy of summer, in danger of being lost.
The finest singers and productions from your own home.

‘Peaceful Moments’ and more FREE videos to enjoy in lockdown.
How do you do it?
Choose the performance:
Don Giovanni: 31 May – 07 June. Comedy-tragedy about Don Juan.
Cosi fan tutte: 07 June – 14 June. Neapolitan farce bordering on tragedy, setting cynicism against love and fidelity.
Watch online or sign up by email for the Open House experience.
Prepare for the excitement of the Glyndebourne Opera!
