What’s the story?
The tulip fields at Keukenhof Gardens are not currently open to the public.
But this amazing place has teams working hard all year round.
The teams here prepare for the thousands of visitors to walk through it’s doors at this time of year.
Usually the tulip fields welcome 1.5 million visitors from around the world.
Luckily the lockdown has not stopped us from being able to see these striking flower displays from our own homes.
Because springtime colours can warm the heart and bounce us out of the winter blues.
Keukenhof Gardens are sharing their fields of technicolour tulip fields, daffodils and hyacinths online.
They are doing this via a series of virtual tours, so that they can still be enjoyed.
The park’s managing director shared, “Because you cannot visit the tulip fields right now, we decided to bring the flowers to you!”
Keukenhof Gardens is the world’s largest bulb-flower garden with over 800 different types of tulips.
This year alone, they planted 7 million bulbs for their exhibit.
And apparently 2020 is one of the best Springtimes they have ever had.
So all their efforts won’t have gone to waste.
